Sunshine’s older weatherboard and brick homes, on good-sized blocks and close to the train, are popular with first-home buyers and young families moving out from the inner suburbs. Many have original timber floors, which buyers love when the rest of the home feels fresh.
Decor 2 Sell is based close by in Derrimut. We stage and style homes across Brimbank and the inner west every week, usually installing within 3 days of booking.

An older-style Sunshine home we staged
This home has polished red timber floors, full-height sheer curtains, a white kitchen and a tiled sunroom at the back. The floors are the best feature, but in empty rooms they made everything look dark and a little dated.
We used a pale patterned rug and soft velvet sofas in the lounge, with black armchairs and a black coffee table to give it some contrast. The bedrooms have white linen with rust and olive accents that pick up the floor colour, and the sunroom is set up as a study, so a room buyers might have overlooked becomes a selling point.

Styling Sunshine’s character homes
- Timber floors. A real asset. Pale rugs and light furniture stop dark floors making the rooms feel small.
- Spare rooms and sunrooms. A study, a nursery or a second living area: we give every extra room a use buyers can picture.
- First-home buyers. They want to move straight in. Fresh, modern styling tells them the home is ready.
Full staging for vacant Sunshine homes
Empty homes are hard for buyers to read. We furnish the living areas, dining, bedrooms and outdoor spaces with our own furniture, art, rugs and linen, so buyers can see the size and purpose of every room. More about home staging.
Property styling for lived-in homes
Still living there? We work with the furniture you have, then add the pieces, art and linen that lift each room, and keep the home practical for daily life during the campaign. More about property styling.

Do you stage older weatherboard and brick homes?
Yes, they are some of our favourite homes to style. Modern furniture against original floors and details is a combination buyers respond to.
Can you style my Sunshine home while I’m still living in it?
Yes. Our property styling works around your furniture and daily life. We add the pieces, art and linen each room needs, and it is quoted on what your home actually requires.
