A new Oak Park home we staged
This is a newly built home with high ceilings, tall windows, oak floors and walnut joinery through the kitchen and living areas. An arched hallway leads to an open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, with a second living room that has a full wall of built-in shelving. Empty, the rooms were so large that it was hard to tell where the dining area ended and the lounge began.
We used furniture to mark out each zone. A dark oval dining table with boucle chairs sits beside the kitchen, and curved cream sofas with two brown armchairs form the lounge by the windows. In the second living room a rust sofa and round stone coffee table pick up the warmth of the joinery, and the shelves are dressed lightly so the timber stays the feature.
